Supporting Our Students: School-Based Therapy Services

By The Family Health Clinic Team

With every new school year comes new beginnings, new emotions, and lots of adjustments for students and parents. We are thankful to be able to provide students with guidance and consistency through times of change and the challenges that come with it. We are excited to highlight Missy Kalbaugh, one of our dedicated School-Based Therapists at the Family Health Clinic. Keep reading to learn more about Missy’s dedicated approach to supporting students through the challenges of school, life, and beyond.

What is School-Based Therapy?

Missy provides an essential service to children within the Delphi and Carroll County school corporations. Her role is to offer mental health support to students where it’s often needed the most—at school! This means your child can receive professional counseling during the school day, without the need for extra transportation or scheduling around extracurricular activities. It’s a convenient, impactful way to ensure that children’s emotional and psychological well-being is cared for as part of their daily routine. Our goal is to make accessing mental health support as easy and seamless as possible.

Missy has a true passion for working with children and teens who may be struggling with various challenges, such as adjusting to a new school year, making or maintaining friendships, or dealing with feelings of anxiety or sadness.  She also supports children with ADHD or other challenges, helping them build self-esteem and achieve success in the classroom.

Therapy sessions are designed to be child-centered, engaging, and beneficial. Missy incorporates fun yet meaningful games that help children feel confident, understood, and capable of overcoming their struggles.
