Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes That Will Make You Say ‘Yum!’

By The Family Health Clinic Team

Let’s face it, we don’t often think about being healthy on Thanksgiving. Usually, Thanksgiving is a free pass to plates full of food that are nearly endless. However, we think there’s a way that you can have a happy, healthy, and yummy Thanksgiving all at once. Check out some of these recipes we found that might help you feel better the night of Thanksgiving and treat your body well.

Healthy Thanksgiving Oven-Roasted Turkey

Try out this recipe if you’re looking for a healthy option for your turkey.

Health Tip: Choose white meat over dark meat. Per 3 ounces, opting for the “white” turkey breasts over the “dark” meat will save you 50 calories and 4 grams of fat: 115 calories and 7 grams of fat versus 160 calories and 11 grams of fat (Eating Well).

Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Honey and Cinnamon

Instead of loading your sweet potato casserole with marshmallows and brown sugar, use this simple recipe that requires only four ingredients. You’ll still get to enjoy the great taste of sweet potatoes, heightened by the sweetness of the honey, but without the extra calories and following sugar crash of normal sweet potato casserole.
