A Conversation With Kylie

What drew you to the Family Health Clinic?

“I love that the Family Health Clinic provides healthcare services to rural communities that frequently have challenges accessing quality healthcare. I have always wanted to serve my community by providing healthcare to the local pediatric population and working at the Family Health Clinic will be a great opportunity for me to do that.”

What are you most looking forward to about working at The Family Health Clinic?

“I am excited to work alongside such a talented and knowledgeable group of providers at the clinics and get to know the families that I will be providing care.”

What is your favorite part of being a Nurse Practitioner?

“I love the relationships I form with the patients and their families, and I love empowering parents to feel confident and knowledgeable in caring for their children. I love interacting with the patients and helping them have a healthy, thriving childhood.”

Why do you think the Family Health Clinic is important to the community?

“I think the Family Health Clinic is so vital in providing quality, accessible health care to the local and surrounding rural communities. By not only providing healthcare, but also assisting patients in connecting with other resources they may need, the clinic is able to foster a healthier community as a whole.”

What is your specialty, and what made you choose that specialty?

“My specialty is pediatric or children’s health. I’ve always loved kids and grew up spending time with my dozens and dozens of cousins. I worked as a nanny while I was in high school and college and was fairly certain I wanted to do pediatric nursing when I entered nursing school. I fell in love with providing nursing care to children when I started my job at Riley Hospital for Children as a patient technician. I love how fun, loving, resilient, and honest children are and each is unique in their own way. I love talking with them and hearing about their interests and abilities and teaching them how to live a healthy lifestyle.”

Is there anything else you want to share about yourself?

“My husband and I recently moved back to Carroll County with our 3 little children- Landen, Olivia, and Tanner. I love spending time with my family, cooking and baking, exercising, and reading. I’m happy to be back in the country, enjoying the fresh air and friendly neighbors.”
