What is your favorite part of being a Nurse Practitioner?
“My favorite part of being a Nurse Practitioner is that of service. I am a servant leader, clinician, and academic. I value the clinical and practical skills I obtained in school and the many years of clinical practice. These skills allow me to better serve my patients. I wholeheartedly enjoy assisting patients achieve their best level of health through engagement and mutual trust. I believe that as a Nurse Practitioner it is my responsibility to meet the patient where they are to achieve the goals that are best for them.”
Why do you think the Family Health Clinic is important to the community?
“The Family Health Clinic is important to the local community because it provides access to quality healthcare that otherwise would require patients to travel to larger urban areas to receive. The clinic also serves as a foundation to the overall health of the community through its mission in educating future clinicians and ensuring that future generations coming to the clinic are cared for.”
What is your specialty, and what made you choose that specialty?
“My specialty is Family Practice; however, I have worked in different specialties throughout my clinical career. My greatest passion has been my role as a nurse practitioner in urology providing care for many general urological needs. I chose Family Practice as I knew it would allow me to work with different ages and genders of patients and allowed the flexibility in learning specialty practice.”
