A Conversation With Casey

What drew you to the Family Health Clinic?

“I knew the clinic was affiliated with Purdue and noticed that there were several locations that provided community care. The Family Health Clinic of Delphi is also closer to my home, and I enjoy caring for people from my community. I am from a small town and prefer to stay closer to small towns.”

What are you most looking forward to about working at The Family Health Clinic?

“I am looking forward to working with other experienced Nurse Practitioners and having the opportunity to sharpen my skills. There are specialty providers here, and I want to learn from them so I can be a better provider. Everyone has been extremely kind and welcoming.”

What is your favorite part of being a Nurse Practitioner?

“I love the opportunity to talk with patients and get to know them. And it’s most rewarding when they come back to me and tell me how much better they feel or they tell me they’ve reached their goals. If I am able to improve their lives in any way and they are happy, then that’s the best feeling.”

Why do you think the Family Health Clinic is important to the community?

“The Family Health Clinic helps to bridge the gap for many patients needing care. Not everyone has the means to travel for healthcare and our clinics are easily accessible. The clinic not only provides care, but helps with billing, insurance, and referrals to other areas when needed. Due to the variety of specialties offered at the clinic, we are able to care for all ages which is another bonus for patients in the community.”

What is your specialty, and what made you choose that specialty?

“I specialized in family care because I appreciate having variety; it makes me think more. I also did not want to be limited to certain locations for employment. Urgent care is my favorite, and I’ve always cared for all ages, so it’s familiar for me.”

Is there anything else you want to share about yourself?

“I am from Walton, IN, where I live with my three kids. My oldest son graduated from Purdue in May of 2021, and my middle son is currently attending Purdue. My daughter is a freshman in high school. We enjoy spending time together.”
