  • There are three separate calendars that will be posted on the Facebook group page: beginner, intermediate, and advanced
    • Choose which calendar fits your fitness level the best and feel free to go up to the next harder calendar throughout the month if you feel your calendar becomes too  easy
    • The beginner calendar is for those that rarely or never workout
    • The intermediate calendar is for those that workout every once in a while
    • The advanced calendar is for those that workout every week consistently
  • The Family Health Clinic is not responsible for injuries, lost, or damaged property

Who is the July Fitness Program for?

The July Fitness Challenge is for those individuals that want a challenge and to see how far they can push themselves. It is also for the people that want to take the first step into their fitness journey. And it is also for those that are stuck in their same old routine and want to spice up their workouts. This program is designed to be as hard or as easy as you want it to be, it is up to you to decide the difficulty level.

The July Fitness Challenge is all about finding the strength within yourself to get mentally stronger and physically more fit. Once the month is over you will have the skills and confidence to keep the momentum going and continue with your fitness journey.

Invite a friend to help keep you motivated.

Friends make everything better, including working out. Here are 7 reasons why you should invite a friend to join you in the July Fitness Challenge.

  • It is more fun working out with a friend
    • You are less likely to get bored when you are laughing and catching up with a friend
  • You can build new friendships or mend an old one
    • If you workout with someone you do not know that well you can bond over your shared interest of improving your health
  • You’re more likely to commit to your workouts
    • If you arranged to workout with someone you are more likely to go because you do not want to let them down, and on the days you do not feel like working out they can help motivate you
  • You’re more likely to reach your fitness goals
    • Studies have shown that you are more likely to lose weight if your buddy is losing weight as well
  • You’ll work harder with someone else around
    • A little competition never hurt anyone, when you see your friend working hard it makes you want to do the same
  • Your friend may have new workout ideas
    • Your friend may have a different skillset from you and could teach you new fun ways to workout
  • It is safer to workout with someone else
    • Having someone there to spot you when you lift or run with you on a trail ensures that you have help if something goes wrong

Focusing on Body and Mind

During this month-long challenge, it is equally important that while you are working out your body you are also working your mind.

Each Friday there is a deep stretch or yoga video for you to do as your daily challenge. This is to give your body a break from the workouts that you are doing throughout the week but also an opportunity to do some silent reflection on your week. This time also allows you to set some goals for yourself for the coming week. It is vital that during this time you concentrate on the movements that they are instructing you to do in the videos and really embracing the stretches.

During these videos take the time to really enjoy the progress you have made and congratulate yourself on a week’s worth of hard work.
