Kayla Hamstra’s nursing journey began with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. This May, she graduated from Purdue University with a Master of Science in Nursing degree. She previously worked as a pediatric intensive care unit nurse in Northwest Ohio.

Kayla has worked at the Family Health Clinic for the past year-and-a-half as a Registered Nurse.

“I love the small-town feel, and the fact that each patient receives the high quality of care and time they deserve,” she said. Kayla is very passionate about rural health care and has already enjoyed serving in the pediatric primary care role in both Wolcott and Monon.

Kayla lives with her husband in Fair Oaks, IN where they raise beef cattle and grain crops. They are expecting their first child in January!

Kayla grew up in Northeast Ohio, where she still travels to when she has the time.

“I enjoy spending time with family, helping out on the farm, baking, antiquing, and teaching Sunday school,” she said.
